Removed at the end of TET's 7 year time limit to become a teacher

Removed at the end of TET's 7 year time limit to become a teacher

A recent general meeting of the National Council of Teacher Education (NCTE) has decided that after passing the TET Teacher Eligibility Test, the test will no longer be required. In the present case it was given a time limit of seven years once the TET was passed. If the candidate did not get the job in seven years, he would have to prove his eligibility again. Thus, from now on, millions of candidates in the country will not have to take this exam for the second time in their life after passing the TET. The decision made at the council meeting will be officially announced soon.

B.Ed. in NCTE affiliated college. It is mandatory to give TET to get a job as a teacher after completion. B.Ed. After that every candidate can give this test. If the candidate passes this test then his validity i.e. validity was fixed for seven years. This means that once a candidate has not been able to get a job for seven consecutive years after passing the TET, he / she can apply for the job on the basis of this eligibility. But if for some reason the candidate does not get the job even after completing seven years, then in the eighth year the candidate had to pass TET again. Most of the candidates were not ready to give TET again in the eighth year as they could not get a job for seven years. Apart from this, he had to face many difficulties to pass this exam due to his age and dropping out of studies.

Representations and complaints were made to the council on the issue from the states. In which it was demanded to extend the term of TET or even remove the period of seven years. The NCTE General Body met recently. One of the important decisions was that candidates who have passed the TET once will not have to take the exam again for the rest of their lives. That is, TET was valid for life. The new rule will now apply to candidates who pass the TET but no clarification has been made for the candidates who have passed the TET at present. The council is expected to clarify this in the coming days.

Thousands of youth of Gujarat will benefit

Because of this decision, thousands of young people in Gujarat, who want to become teachers, will no longer have to rush to pass the exam once they have passed the TET. Young people usually get a job within seven years but sometimes thousands of candidates cannot get a job within the stipulated timE

even after passing TET due to lack of vacancies or lack of space in their subject or any other reason. In this condition, he had to pass the examination again after completing seven years. Now, even if there is a delay in getting a job as per the new rules, once the candidates have passed the examination, they will not have to face any hassle of appearing for the examination a second time.
